The Mountain Folk Festival is a joyful celebration of community, tradition, innovation, friendship, music and movement. Youth from 4th to 12th grade are the focus for the weekend, with opportunities for adults in dance leadership as well.

Participants and groups often return year after year, creating new friendships and deepening continuing relationships. Berea College’s Country Dance Programs sponsor this amazing weekend, which provides workshops in singing, dancing, and more for groups of young people.

The festival has been held every spring since 1935, except for one year during World War II, spreading a love and knowledge of American, English, and Danish traditional dance.
